Flormar U08

Today's polish is a Flormar blue duochrome foil.
This is part of the Supershine Miracle colors collection.
It is mostly blue, but in certain lights I see some purple, that fails to come out on the photos.
This is two coats and as you can probably tell, one coat of Seche vite that did the shrinking.

I have found that a lot of the Flormar polishes have messed up brushes, this one was no exception. It had a hair curved on the side which made it kinda hard to apply the nail polish, but I managed in the end.

And this being said here are the photos:

Illamasqua - Stagnate

Since I was talking about Illamasqua earlier, well I thought I'd show you the one I most liked from the two I ordered.
I thought I'd like the other one better, but this one sneaked up on me.

It's a chocolate brown cream. I love it, I used to think colors like this don't looks good on me, but this one I really like, even on my nubbins.

This was two coats, and as you can see it is totally opaque. I wore it for the whole weekend and I had no chips and no tip wear. I am actually quite impressed with this one.

So here are the photos. Not my best photos ever, and I just saw that I have a huge Mumu hair on one of my fingers.

Yves Saint Laurent - Wintergreen

I found this at Douglas in Rouen this weekend, visiting my in-laws, and I think this is part of the new fall collection - Jardin de Minuit, along with a blue polish, that looks a lot like Dior Tuxedo.
But it was this one that got my attention, because it is such a unique color, something I've never seen before.
It's a dark forest green, with lighter and brighter green shimmer.
I like everything about this polish, even the brush, this is the first highend polish that I actually like the brush, Chanel brushes suckk big time in my opinion, Dior suck a little less, but this one is perfect, it's like Zoya brushes.
I love the formula it is just the right consistency, and application is effortless. It was opaque in two coats, and the finish is perfect, selfleveling and all.
And I love the bottle, in the store, the sample was a lot smaller, and that's why I thought the polishes will be the same size, but they are almost double the size.
Anyhow here are the photos, which don't do this polish justice. If you would like to know the price in France it is sold for around 21€. click to enlarge so you can see the shimmer better.

China Glaze - Blue Paradise

First of all I hope everyone is ok, and Irene didn't do much damage. I have been following this on the news, and I saw that finally it didn't hit New York as hard as it was supposed to, so I am glad that turned out this way.

Now on to the polish:
I have had this polish for so long, I think it was one of the polishes that Carolina sent me in one of our swaps. But I am not sure.
It's the traditional blue shimmer polish. I am really not into this kind of shades, but since my nails are now so small, I can only wear dark or crazy colors.
So the advantage to this polish is that it is opaque in two coats, but what I didn't like was that it was super streaky.
It is part of the Bahama blues 2008 collection for winter I think.
As I didn't like it on it's won I added a coat of CND - Jade Sparkle.
Here are the photos:

Finger Paints - Amethyst Atelier

Oooook!! serious nubbin time!! I broke a nail and had to cut them all down, so now I have a major nubbin situation, like never before.
Not even in the start of the blog did I have nails so short.
I want my old nails back!!
So this is another polish from my swap with Carolina, and I love it, it looks a bit like OPI Road house blues.
It's a dark blue cream, a little on the purple side, but just a little.
I applied two coats, and it was perfectly opaque.
I am not so familiar with the brand Finger Paints, and I really don't know how much they cost, but I can tell you this: I think they are very good quality nail polish, and the application is just perfect, formula too. The brush isn't the best, but it is pretty ok.

Color Club - Wicked sweet

Today I am going to show you a polish I thought was going to be a neon, but actually is a matte shimmer.
This is part of the collection Wicked sweet, and it's a blue base with turquoise shimmer, that dries matte, not suede, matte.
The particular thing about this polish is that is smells like candy, even with top coat on, I love it!! It smells really good, better than the Revlon scent ones.
I applied 3 coats and that's because I thought I could still see a bit of VNL. And then I thought it would look good with a coat of white shatter. And here are the results - click to enlarge.

Finger Paints - Mistletoe Mischief

Mistletoe Mischief is actually a nail polish I got in a older swap with Carolina.
It's a beautiful forest green jelly base, packed with the most gorgeous green shimmer.
I applied 3 coats of this, because with two I still had VNL, but even 3 still has some, but I don't mind, because I love the shimmer - looks like a Christmas globe.
I don't know why I didn't try it untill now.
The formula is pretty standard for a jelly, and the application is easy, had no problems.
So here are the photos, as always click for a larger view.

Orly OLA + Essence Edward

We went to Marseille this weekend, to attend the wedding of a friend of my husbands.
And this polish is what I wore for 3 days.
It's a coral cream polish, very lovely color, corals are one of my favourites. Application was effortless, and the formula is excellent as on all the Orlys I've tried.
Two coats was enough for complete opacity, and today I thought about adding a coat of glitter to it and this Essence seemed perfect.
One coat of the glitter did the trick, I think it came out pretty good. What do you think?
Are you like me? Do you like to top off a polish with something else?

I leave you with the beautiful view we had from the wedding location - the famous Calanques de Marseille

China Glaze - Urban night

The second polish I tried from my swap with Carolina is this one, and it is also part of the latest China Glaze collection Metro. So I was pretty excited to have one of these new polishes since I failed to order any on the internet.
This one is a beautiful dark purple cream, looks a lot like Honk if you love OPI from the touring America collection whose swatch you can find here
I loved the way it looked all by itself, but you know me I had to add something so I added Kleancolor - Chuncky Holo Fuchsia which is a fuchsia transparent base, with duochrome small round glitter.
And on top I added a matte top coat from Essence.
