Born Pretty Store articles review

I am back with a review of two articles from Born Pretty Store. I got contacted by them to review some of their products and I accepted right away. It is a big online store that has a rather large nailart section.

I got sent two products:
- water decal stickers (click for the link)
- decorative studs (click for the link)

I am going to start with the water decals. There are 12 in the pack, so I guess 2 back-ups in case you screw one up on each hand, and the designs are varied. As you can see from the link the price is 2$, so very cheap.

Now onto the review - I either did not know how to use these, either these are not of a great quality. And why?? I will tell you:
On the pack it is written to dip them in water, remove the protective sheet, apply to the nail phile de excess and then apply top coat. I was not able to phile the excess before applying topcoat. And once I applied the topcoat, the water decal would shrink and sometimes even disolve.

I must say this was the first time applying water decals for me, so I really don't know if it was my fault, or not, but all in all this is how they turned out :

The spot on my ring finger is where the topcoat disolved the water decal. Sorry for the poor appearance of this mani, but I did my best.

The decorative studs

These come in a small wheel, and in different shapes - 12 shapes to be exact. The wheel is 5$ and has lots of studs inside.

 I really loved these!! It is really easy to use them and you got lots of options for a creative mani.

Shipping is free worldwide and they told me it would take up to 5 weeks, but I got the products pretty fast, like 10 days.

So all in all I would not order the water decals again, but the studs have conquered me, and the free shipping is a clear plus.

Essie Chinchilly & OPI The man with the golden gun

Hey everyone!!
I am so excited about this OPI gold top coat, that I did another mani with it. And it really goes with everything!! I am totally loving this!

This time I applied it on top of Essie Chinchilly which is a great taupe cream. I applied one coat of The man with the golden gun. I just really don't know what to tell you more about this.  It is gorgeous!!

Orly - Pure Porcelain & Essence - Circus Confetti

I know I already swatched this one, but I really like it and I am now in the middle of revisiting some of my favourite nailpolishes.

This is an ivory cream polish, that looks good on everyone I think. It is a great nude, very warm color, applies like a dream, in two coats it is opaque. I had some wear on it after 3 days, but I did not wrap the tips, because I'm lazy like that.

On top I applied a coat of my Essence - Circus Confetti which is like a really glitter packed clear base with lots of different sized and colored glitter.

Red glitter gradient

Hey everyone!!
I am so so so so so sorryyyyyyyy, I haven't really had time to take care of this little blog, I am really swamped right now, have been traveling a lot for work, and when I am home I am working, going to the gym and being sick  haha!!

So this is my series of Christmas manis. Starting with a red and blue gradient, I know it's dark blue, it's not black. I started with applying two coats of Dior blue Label and continued with a red glitter gradient. The gradient was done according with my gradient tutorial.

The red glitter is the Milani one coat glitter red sparkle.

Gold Gradient

Hello everyone!
Hope your day is going well. I am hoping to get rid of some nail polish, to only keep my favourites, and do some nailart posts rather then just swatches. But I will still do swatches whenever I get new nail polish.

Today's post is a gradient I did using as a base Orly's Ola, and on top Milani Gold Glitz.

I love the base color, corals, oranges and other combinations of the two are really my favourite colors for nail polish. This Milani is one of the one coat glitters. I love the way they look together hope you like it too.

Jail bars

Hello people!!
Yet another day in the life of a polish freak. I am going through my favourite polishes at the moment, and wearing them with a lot of pleasure.I am now wearing my favourite dark burgundy Zoya Anja, a very good formula, and gorgeous color, almost a one coater.

I applied on my middle finger a coat of Kleancolor Salsa much, and then stamped a design from my Bundle Monster plate BM 209 with Kiko 400.

I think it came out pretty ok, but not impressive.
Anyway here are the photos, hope you like it: Sorry for the crappy hand pose, this is my right hand which normally takes the photos, but since on my left hand I messed up the design......

Golden day

I have decided to stop buying nail polish, unless it is really a color I don't own. I have already reduced my polish purchases a looooot. I am also thinking of having a blog sale, in order to purge some of the polishes, because let's face it I can't honestly use up 500 bottles of nail polish in a lifetime. So why not pass them along to somebody else, who will get more use out of them than me.

So let me know if a blog sale would be of any interest to you. I will do an international one.

Also since I have no new polishes to show you, today's post is a revisit with an old friend - Essie Playa del Platinum, and a small nail art I did ( that is if you can call it nail art).

I really love this nude. I rarely wear them, but this one looks great on small nails. I had to cut them down, because they started peeling again, and then breaking.

The accent nail is China Glaze I'm not lion, and the stamping is done with Dior Timeless Gold and my Konad stamping plate n°M78. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Orly Fowl Play & Gradient

This one is another polish I didn't take pictures of when I swatched it, and had to redo the swatch and this time remember to take pictures.

I have heard that this polish is a dupe for OPI Merry Midnight, but since I don't own that one I can't do a comp. But here is one that Jessica from Polish Insomniac did. I think they are one and the same polish.

I love them both and when I saw this coming out I knew I had to have it, since Merry Midnight is no longer produced.

It is a jelly dark purple polish, with lots of duochrome flakies of different sizes, and I see some blue glitter in there too. I really like it, I did 3 coats of it to get it opaque, but I could have stoped at two. The formula is great, easy to apply easy enough to remove. It does shrink a bit with Seche, but what polish doesn't.

I did a gradient too, I started with KIKO n° 303, and after that Essence Time for romance. I love the way it turned out:

Wow two posts in a row!
The nailpolish of the day is one I won in a giveaway over on Carolina's blog. So thank you Carolina for this wonderfull polish!

It is a jelly baby pink color , with hex large and small silver glitter. The small glitter was easily spreaded on the the nail, but the larger one was a bit hard to capture from the bottle and put on the nail. I applied 3 coats, to get opacity, which is a bit more than I like to put on, so I think that it could work better layered on top of a pink polish. Although in that case you would have less glitter.

Anyways I also did a little stamping using my Bundle Monster plates BM 203 and BM 201 using a Konad polish.

Oh and I also trimmed my nails a bit, I had a little accident, and had to phile them all down.

China Glaze - I'm not lion

Ohhh this is a beauty!!! It's my favourite of all time glitters!! It has made it's way to the top very fast. It is part of the Safari collection, and it was my only choice from it. I couldn't have made a better choice.

This is a beige and holo glitter. The holo comes out in the sunlight so gloriously!!
I applied two coats for full opacity, and it went on smoothly. The application is great, and drying time is so small. The only bad thing about this is that it's a very hungry glitter, I think that not even on my third coat of topcoat the surface was still not smooth.

But when it comes to such a gorgeous polish, I am willing to overlook that.
