Dior Gris Trianon accent manicure

Hello everyone!
I so forgot to review this one, when I bought it. And I am very sorry for that. But I can still review it now. It was part of Dior Spring Cherie bow collection along with two other pinks that I didn't really love.

This one is a very nice taupy nude, very wearable, but still with an edge to it. It is a cream finish, and for full opacity you need two coats. The formula is great, just like all Diors, it glides on the nail easily, and they last a very long time on the nail with no wear. I am a Dior fan as you all know.

I did an accent nail with Milani's one coat glitter in Silver Dazzle, I love the combo!
I also did a comparison with Essie Chinchilly on the nail, and some other colors in the bottle.

 The comparison on the nail with Essie Chinchilly is underneath. As you can see in the bottle they look pretty much alike, and on the nail too, but they are not dupes. The Essie is a bit cooler and lighter.

Essie Chinchilly & OPI The man with the golden gun

Hey everyone!!
I am so excited about this OPI gold top coat, that I did another mani with it. And it really goes with everything!! I am totally loving this!

This time I applied it on top of Essie Chinchilly which is a great taupe cream. I applied one coat of The man with the golden gun. I just really don't know what to tell you more about this.  It is gorgeous!!

Soooo excited about this one guys!!
Let's start at the beginning: I found this Essie in the sale at Monoprix, so all you girls that live in France, they had like 4 colors in the Sale. I thought this one was pretty cute, so I bought it for 6€. It is ok compared to the 12€ we normally have to pay for these here.

It is a pink neon finish nail polish, so that means it dries matte, and needs topcoat to shine. I love the color it is so pretty, but like I have found with neons don't last long in moist environements, so when I use these and go to the seaside, they peel in like a day.

And for the most exciting part I got my hands on The Man with the golden gun by OPI, that was the only polish in the Skyfall collection that I wanted, and I was not able to find this here. I don't know if anyone as come across it in France, because I looked for it everywhere and couldn't find it.

But the nicest girl Emilie from Greeneyespinknails got it for me. She lives in Switzerland, and they sell it there. She was so nice that she offered it to me for Christmas. So Thank you so much Emilie!
So you probably all know by now what this is , it is a clear base, with gold flakes in it. I absolutely adore this, it is so gorgeous, and it goes well on everything!! Really matches every color.

Essie - Where's my chauffeur

Hello my dears!!
I know I am really bad at doing regular posts, but I just can't find the time anymore. With all the work, and the Christmas shopping I have really had time for nothing. We also went on a little trip to London, this weekend, saw some friends, did some shopping, as some of you who follow me on Instagram have already seen.

This is a little Essie I picked up at Monoprix, it is part of the holliday collection" Leading Lady". I love the color, it is so pretty, I'm not sure how this is a winter color, but hey I wear what I want not what I'm supposed to.

It is a turquoise cream, that applies pretty good and is opaque in two coats. This is the Europeean version of Essie, with the wide brush, and name on the top of the cap.

I know it looks a little beat up on my nails, but that's because I have been wearing it for 3 days, and it has been through a lot, but as you can see no chips.

This looks a lot like China Glaze For Audrey and Dior St. Tropez, so I did a little comparison for you: China Glaze on the index finger, Dior on the middle finger, and on the rest the Essie.

CG - For Audrey is a little lighter, so not really an exact dupe, and Dior is a bit darker, but just a hint, so if you already have one of these, I don't really see the point in buying the others. But they are all super pretty, and good quality nail polish ranging from 3$ to 21€. Your choice.

Golden day

I have decided to stop buying nail polish, unless it is really a color I don't own. I have already reduced my polish purchases a looooot. I am also thinking of having a blog sale, in order to purge some of the polishes, because let's face it I can't honestly use up 500 bottles of nail polish in a lifetime. So why not pass them along to somebody else, who will get more use out of them than me.

So let me know if a blog sale would be of any interest to you. I will do an international one.

Also since I have no new polishes to show you, today's post is a revisit with an old friend - Essie Playa del Platinum, and a small nail art I did ( that is if you can call it nail art).

I really love this nude. I rarely wear them, but this one looks great on small nails. I had to cut them down, because they started peeling again, and then breaking.

The accent nail is China Glaze I'm not lion, and the stamping is done with Dior Timeless Gold and my Konad stamping plate n°M78. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Gold accent nail with Essie - Bikini so Teeny

Today I am on a relax weekend normally. Because I'm sure that when my husband comes back, he'll have us do something, because he's got not one to sit around on a weekend.

Untill then I am taking advantage and posting this. It's a nail polish I bought in the hope of seeing the pretty shimmer that you see in the bottle, on the nail. It is part of the summer collection I think, and it is a blue lavender cream, with white shimmer inside.

The formula was a bit runny for my taste, but ok, the application is ok, and it only took 2 coats to get opacity. But on the nail the shimmer is not visible, not even in sunlight, you can barely see it if you look very closely.

I love the color, but if it hadn't been for the shimmer, I would probably have not purchased it. Anyway I thought of doing an accent nail, with China Glaze I'm not lion glitter. This is part of the Safari collection, and it was my only choice from that collection. It is a pretty gold and holo glitter. I absolutely love this one, and I think I will do a full mani with this one.

Essie California Coral and a coral comparison

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I bought 3 coral in NY, and this is the last one.
Essie California Coral was in my opinion the best formula out of all three Zoya - Maya and Sephora by OPI - I'm wired.

This Essie is a cream I think, tends towards a jelly but just a little bit. Anyways this is a dark coral, almost red.
I applied two coats, and I can still see a bit of VNL, but I like it this way.

And now for the comparison.

As you can see in the bottle they look almost the same. From left to right we have Zoya- Maya, Essie - California Coral, Sephora by OPI- I'm wired.

Soooo the onbly one that stands out a bit is the Zoya, which tends a bit more towards pink, and is very jelly. But mostly the Essie and the SOPI are mostly alike, so I guess for these two we have a dupe alert.

What I would wear -series 1 episode 2

Welcome to the second episode of the What I would wear series.
This is more of a casual outfit. And I also included accessories this time, because the last time I had forgotten.

I bought this shirt on Asos a week ago, and it was love at first site. I have been eyeballing it for a month, waiting for sales, and I finally got 40 % off.
So here is the info:
Shirt: Asos - it cost 29€ and it was originaly 41,51€. You can find it here.
Jeans: Zara - these are super comfy and you can get them in lots of different colors, and they were pretty cheap too - 25€. You can find them here I also have these in navy and green. I just love them.
Accessories: The ring was from H&M and it cost 4€, but I don't know if they sell it anymore. And the earrings were a present.
Shoes: - I bought these on sale from Spartoo.com and they were about 25€. The brand is Bronx, a brand I am very fond of, and have lots of shoes from. You can still find them here, but not for the same price.
Sweater: - I got this at New Look, it cost 35€, and I think they don't sell them anymore.

Essie - In stitches

Hello, hello!!
Missed you babies! I had almost no time for myself lately, so that explains the pause in blogging too.

Anyways I am back today with a gorgeous color - a brick red cream from Essie. I had already worn this, but forgot to take photos.

It is just the wright formula, and the application was easy. I applied two coats for perfect opacity. So I am in love with this color. I didn't expect to like it this much, but once on my fingers, it was love at first site. And I had no chips either, for like two days.

What I would wear

Since I can't do nail posts, because of the bad bad shape my nails are in - have a look for yourselves - click to enlarge if you like to be scared- I have decided to start this series of posts.

What it is about - I choose an outfit from my own wardrobe, and show you a few nail polishes I would choose to wear with it.

I will give you all the details about the outfit and the nail polishes I chose.

So today's outfit is :

The dress is from H&M and I bought it last year just before Christmas, for New Years Eve. I think it was about 25€ not so expensive I think. It has a gray snake print on it, but it is subtle.

The shoes are from Zara and I love love love them, and when I saw them I had to have them! They were about 45€, from the summer 2011 collection. They are the color dark blue, one of my favourite colors now. 

The bag is also from Zara and I think I must have paied like 5€ for it don't remember how long ago sorry.

Essie - No more film&China Glaze Full Spectrum

Finally a nail polish post!!
That's what you must be thinking. My nails are still exfoliating like crazy, and I am trying all the treatements in the book, with no results, so guess there must be something else wrong.
But since I couldn't take it no more, I had to put on some nail polish.

I chose Essie No more film (part of the Resort 2012 collection), because I love dark nail polish on small nails. This is actually almost identical to OPI - Touring America's - Road house blues - you can find the swatch here.

So if you already own that one this is not necessairy.

This polish was a bit too thick for me, and I had some difficulties applying it, because when I took a bit more on the brush, it got all over my cuticules, and when I got less, I was unable to spread it on the nail.

The color is a dark purpelish blue cream, and it was opaque in two coats.
I did an accent nail with China Glaze Prismatic - Full Spectrum. This one is a shimmery pink base with multisized glitter in different colors.

 

 

Misa - Got it made in the shade & Essence Edward

This is a cream shade, mutted mint greysh color. This is part of the Hip to Jive collection.
I already have an Essie that is very much alike this Misa.

I applied two coats and it was opaque.
The color lasted pretty much about 3 days on my nails, it wore a bit on the tips, and I had a few chips in the same places as always, were my nails exfoliate.

As I thought that it was a bit boring as color, I added a coat of Essence Edward.

And the last picture is a comparison between Essie - Da bush, and Misa- Got it made in the shade. I think they are pretty similar even in the bottle, and so if you already have one, don't bother to buy the other one.

Revlon - Whimsical over Essie- Borrowed&Blue

This is one of the polishes I won in the giveaway organised by Carolina and I loved it!

 I started with two coats of Essie -Borrowed&Blue, which I found a bit watery, a bit too much. Then completed with two coats of Whimsical.

Whimsical is a sheer light blue jelly base, with hex glitter in blue and pink I think, and some holo small round glitter.

It needed two coats to get some glitter on there, because after the first coat there was almost nothing on the nail.

But the final look is so pretty!
I have been told this is a cheap version of Deborah Lipmann's Glitter in the Air.
