China Glaze - Rose Among Thorns

Hello everyone,
It's been almost a week, and I have once again failed to keep my blog updated, but I am trying my best.

Today I have for you a great summer color, a neon red, I would say, because it is not exactely red, has a bit of fuchsia in it. It is a cream neon, goes on a bit sheer, and the formula is a bit runny, but all in all nothing one can't handle.

I applied two coats, and I still have VNL but I don't mind with this color.

I put on a top coat as usual with this kind of finish.

Ciaté Caviar mini bar review

Hello everyone!!
Sorry for my abcence I was on a small vacation in Barcelona, had to get some sun, since in Paris we haven't seen it for like two months. Had good times, with good friends, and good food. It was lovely!

So I bought this caviar mini bar in Sephora like a month ago but it took me a while to get this review done, cause I had other priorities on the blog list.

This is 22€ in Sephora, and you get 4 polishes and 4 bottles of those little pearls and a funnel I guess to put your pearls back in the bottle once you are done with them.Here is what the box looks like from the outside. I like it I am a sucker for nice packaging.

This is what it contains: 4 nail polishes - from left to right: - Knickerbockerglory, Pom Pom, fit for a queen and Sand Dune and underneath 4 pearl bottles - from left to right - Prom Queen, Jubilee, Hologram, Candyshop.

Aren't the bottles cute with the little bows?? I love them so much. The other two polishes I haven't tried yet, but I will.

How does it work ??? Well you apply your base, then a coat of polish, and the second one, and you can't let this last one dry - at this moment you pour the pearls directly from the bottle onto your nail, and you will see them stick to it. If you have patches that are still empty, just take some pearls on your finger and press them on your nail yourself. After this you press gently all the pearls on the nail, and wrap your tips in top coat. Just the tips because if you wrap everything, it look kind of nasty.

It is not a long lasting mani, mine did not even make it through one day. The beads fall off if they rubb against something. And it is a bit weird and uncomfortable. But it is fun.

For removal just use a cotton pad, and soack you nail for a bit, and then wipe off the nailpolish with the beads. It is a bit messy so do it over something.

This is Knickerbockerglory ( What a name!!)

 This one is a Coral creme - application is great and it only took two coats to get it opaque.

This is Pom Pom

 This one is more of an orange coral, but the formula is the same as on the previous one.
I tried them without the beads and it is very longlasting. Love these!

And this is Pom Pom with Jubilee.

I found it looked better in real life than in these pictures, can't really say why.
I kinda like the look, but I think that it is not worth the effort, because it doesn't last for long. Hope you enjoy!

Butter London - Disco Biscuit

As some of you who follow me on IG have seen, I only have one Butter London, that Carolina sent me from the states, because we can't find these polishes in France.

I love everything about these polishes!! I am totally in love! The shape of the bottles is to die for, the brush is great, the formula is excellent, and so on.

The color I chose is a red to fuchsia jelly with little blue sparkles. The color on its own needs about 4 coats to get it opaque, so I decided to apply it over a similar pink cream - Kiko 313. I applied one coat of the Kiko, and on top of that one coat of Disco Biscuit. This polish needs topcoat, since it dries a bit gritty.

It lasted very well on me for like 4 days, no chips. It lasted 4 days, because I decided to take it off, cause you know me I get bored, not because it chipped.

Sally Hansen - Very Cherry

This one was in a swap I did with Carolina - who by the way posted a message on Facebook yesterday saying that they are preparing for hurricane Sandy, so I am thinking about her and her family!! Be safe!!

The polish is a small red to pink flakie polish in a kind of a jelly base. I applied two coats of this polish, and it wasn't quite opaque, but it was very close to it. I couldn't be bothered to do a third coat anyway.

This was very pretty, and the application was ok, formula generally ok. Couldn't tell you about how long it lasted because I only kept it for like 2 days on my finger nails.

L'Oreal Rouge pin up

Today I have for you a classic red, there's nothing special about this one, but I love red and always will, and think this is a classic, and goes well with every outfit.

I had to go to a wedding this weekend, so I thought I'd take off my blue L'Oreal and put on something more weddingy!

This was an easy application, and it was opaque in two coats. It is very shinny, and I love this kind of red. It lasted very well for about 5 days, no chips, just some tip wear. The photos are taken before I took it off.

I am very pleased with these polishes. And before I took it off I applied on one hand China Glaze Luxe and Lush, and on the other Max Factor - fantasy Fire.

We are having little sun these days here, so the photos are kind of crap.

H&M Juicy Peach cloud mani

I've been so busy lately haven't had any time for anything. Ok so today I have this peachy nailpolish for you.
It came in a package with 2 other polishes, one of them being the blue one you saw in my previous post.

This is a cream orange red polish, that becomes opaque in 2 coats. I really liked it, but I scratches very easily.

I am so sleepy I can't even think of what to write.
So I applied this and saw a tutorial on how to make a cloud mani on Jane's blog, and I thought to myself : That doesn't look so hard! You can do it Ruxi! So I did.
I guess it doesn't looks so professional as other blogger's, but I'm pretty happy with the result, considering, I have no nail art experience.

I used two Essie polishes for the clouds, the off white one is Absolutely shore, and the gray one is Chinchilly. And on top I added a coat of Seche Vite. If anyone is interesed I could do a tutorial of my own of this mani.

Calvin Klein - Opus & Max Factor - Fantasy Fire

This polish was a present from my friend Ange for my birthday. It's a Calvin Klein polish, that looks almost red in the bottle. On the nail though it's totally a different story. It looks a bit black and only in the sunlight you can see the shimmer.

This is a black jelly base with red shimmer in it. I applied 2 coats but still had bald spots, the formula was a bit glooppy too, hard to manage. Overall I did not like the nail polish. I don't know in terms of durability because I took it off the next day, I found it a bit ugly. Sorry Ange! I have to be honest.

I applied Max Factor Fantasy Fire over it to see how it looks over a dark polish, and I really like it, although, this color brings out more the green part in Fantasy Fire, the previous one was all about the pink.

I've decided to leave the photos small because of the hideous cuticules I have in these pictures, that I only noticed now, when I started working on them, and it's too late to take new pictures. If you really want to see them upclose you can click on the picture, but be warned.

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

This nailpolish is kind of a legend and it was hard to find, until they restocked at transdesign and had to grab it. I had seen this one on so many blogs, and it looked amazing, so you get to see it here too.

It is a red jelly base, with amazing small red glitter, that has a weird depth to it. We haven't been having very good weather here, so I couldn't capture the true beauty of this nail polish, but I did my best.

It applied very well, and it only needs two coats to become opaque because of the glitter I think.

Some Rimmel spam

Some friends of mine came over last week, and they came baring gifts - some Rimmel polishes from back home. I am really enjoying each and every one of them. They are really pretty!

First of all I've noticed that they are all opaque in two coats, and that they don't chip, but I did notice a fair amount of tip wear. They dry pretty quickly and the brush is good too.

Now let's get on to the colors.
Hot shot is the first one I tried, it's an almost neon pink cream. It applies like a cream but it looks a lot like a neon. I loved this color, and it was the first one I chose to try because I liked it the most.

The second color soon became my new favourite. Wine not is a beautiful wine red cream.

And once I thought I was done, I tried Misty Jade and it became my favourite. It's a pretty almost neon green, but it finishes as a cream. I seriously love all three of these and thank my friends for getting these for me. Thank you Mirela & Ange!!

I have two more of these to try out and can't wait.

China Glaze Ray-diant and another gradient!!

Hahaha, I have driven you insane with all the gradients by now right???
Let's start with the base color. It is part of the China Glaze Prismatic collection and it is a let's say yellowish silver small glitter, packed with a lot of larger and multicolored glitter.

The formula was perfect in my opinion, and the application as good as it can be with that thin brush they have.
It was a bit on the sheer side, with only two coats but three did the trick, and it dried in the same amount of time as two coats.

It doesn't look too duochromy to me, so I must not have tried hard enough. I have another polish from this collection so I will try and see the duochrome in that one latter.
I did the gradient using China Glaze Ruby Pumps.

Zoya Maya and a gradient

This one is another one of my NY purchases, and I thought I'd do all the corals one after another, and at the end do a comparison.

In the bottle they all look pretty much the same, but this one is actually pretty different from the previous one, because first of all it's a jelly, and second of all it's not much of a coral, it's more of a faded pink.

Anyways I love this color, it's very summery, happy color. Makes me smile when I look at my nails.
I also did a gradient on it, because I am starting to love these so much, and they're so easy to do. I used Zoya Sooki.

Hello, hello!!
Missed you babies! I had almost no time for myself lately, so that explains the pause in blogging too.

Anyways I am back today with a gorgeous color - a brick red cream from Essie. I had already worn this, but forgot to take photos.

It is just the wright formula, and the application was easy. I applied two coats for perfect opacity. So I am in love with this color. I didn't expect to like it this much, but once on my fingers, it was love at first site. And I had no chips either, for like two days.
