Finger Paints - Mistletoe Mischief

Mistletoe Mischief is actually a nail polish I got in a older swap with Carolina.
It's a beautiful forest green jelly base, packed with the most gorgeous green shimmer.
I applied 3 coats of this, because with two I still had VNL, but even 3 still has some, but I don't mind, because I love the shimmer - looks like a Christmas globe.
I don't know why I didn't try it untill now.
The formula is pretty standard for a jelly, and the application is easy, had no problems.
So here are the photos, as always click for a larger view.

Orly OLA + Essence Edward

We went to Marseille this weekend, to attend the wedding of a friend of my husbands.
And this polish is what I wore for 3 days.
It's a coral cream polish, very lovely color, corals are one of my favourites. Application was effortless, and the formula is excellent as on all the Orlys I've tried.
Two coats was enough for complete opacity, and today I thought about adding a coat of glitter to it and this Essence seemed perfect.
One coat of the glitter did the trick, I think it came out pretty good. What do you think?
Are you like me? Do you like to top off a polish with something else?

I leave you with the beautiful view we had from the wedding location - the famous Calanques de Marseille

China Glaze - Urban night

The second polish I tried from my swap with Carolina is this one, and it is also part of the latest China Glaze collection Metro. So I was pretty excited to have one of these new polishes since I failed to order any on the internet.
This one is a beautiful dark purple cream, looks a lot like Honk if you love OPI from the touring America collection whose swatch you can find here
I loved the way it looked all by itself, but you know me I had to add something so I added Kleancolor - Chuncky Holo Fuchsia which is a fuchsia transparent base, with duochrome small round glitter.
And on top I added a matte top coat from Essence.

Carolina's Franken

The first polish I had to try from Carolina's package was of course her franken.
I don't know what she mixed in there, but the formula is great - the brush glides off nicely and the polish dries off very neetly and is self leveling. I applied 3 coats because I couldn't get too much glitter on the brush.
And it is also very shinny!!
If you want to make your own, Carolina put the recepy here.
The polish is a yellow cream with yellow shimmer, it makes me think of a lighter version of Chanel Mimosa, with different coloured and sized glitter.
Here are the photos:

Illamasqua Radium

I think I told you that I had ordered two polishes from Illamasqua, and I received them two months later, after already opening a paypal complaint, writing to the post office. I had tried to work things out with their client service, but they just kept telling me that according to their reccords I had received the package. So finally after two months I did receive it.
This is one of the polishes in the package I know you've seen this lots of other places, but I like it and here it is.
It's a green cream base, with yellow shimmer I think.
The application is ok, the brush is not amazing, but it works pretty well, I had some trouble because the cap was square and I am not used to this.
The formula is great, the brush glided off nicely, and I only had to use 2 coats, so overall this is a great polish, but the price is kind of a turn off. I paied 21£ on two polishes, plus delivery 7.5£ that's a total of  28.5£ which means 47$ that is 15 China Glaze polishes.
But it was worth buying them because they were on 20% sale, and I had to have some Illamasqua in my collection.

And I had to do a design with my dotting tools, and here is what came out, looks a bit like some bizzare reptile. I don't like it.
So what do you think? Do you own any Illamasqua polishes? What are your opinion on them?
Tell me all about that.

Pink Wednesday - China Glaze Pool Party

I have been loving pink and orange neons lately. I bought this one just before going on vacation, and now I am sorry I didn't receive it before so I could actually wear this in the pool, I love the way neons look in the water.
I tried some purple neons too, but they are just not so flashy as orange and pink.
So for today, my come back in the world of pink Wednesday I thought I'd post a neon.
This one is a pretty flashy pink, and it took 3 coats to get it this way.
As usual my camera had a major freak out when it laied it's lenses upon this polish, but I guess all cameras do that.
And I also look extra tan in these pictures, but I am not.

Before going on vacation I had arranged a swap with Carolina from Colores de Carol, and I got the package today!! I got so much nail mail today. I actually received a package from Illamasqua that I had already thought it was lost forever.

Essie - Looking for love

I am now making up for lost time, and also tomorrow I won't be posting I think, because I am away on business.
This is a polish I won on Karen's giveaway. It looks like a very subtle lavender cream in the bottle. But it is actually a lavender jelly, I have noticed this about a lot of nude polishes from Essie.
I applied 4 coats of this to get a nearly opaque look, but still didn't make it. Anyway after 4 coats I had had about enough, so I have up. I still have some VNL but hey this is just how it is with jellies.
I will be wearing this to work tomorrow because my boss has no idea about my addiction to nail polish, and the crazy shades I can sometimes wear. And since I know you missed Mumu here's a photo of him, in the sun. He was so crazy yesterday when we got home, he must have been bored out of his mind all alone at home for two weeks ( don't be scared there was somebody coming by to see him, but he is used to me being there all the time).
Sorry about the red spots on the ring finger, they come from the Seche Vite brush.

Dior - St. Tropez

Hey everyone!!
Sorry for the long hiatus, but I've been on vacation, I was really worn out!! I had absolutely no time to update the blog, because I was off doing stuff each and every day of the vacation.
I went to the Island of Kos in Greece, and then back home.
And for the nail polish news, I have for you today a long time lemming of mine - this is a limited edition Dior, for the summer 2011. I had been looking for it on their site, I had even an alarm set up, but each time that it announced me it was back in stock when I looked it was already sold out.
So I decided to try my luck in the Galleries LaFayette before leaving for Greece, and I struck gold!!
It was a bit more expensive than on the web, but at least I have it now it is mine!!
This is a turquoise blue, looks a lot like Chine Glaze For Audrey in the bottle, but I did a comparison, and it's not that alike on the nail.
This is a cream polish, and it takes two coats to get it opaque.
I did a comparison with Misa dirty sexy money and China Glaze For Audrey.
