Cristina does nails - OPI - Black cherry chutney

Cristina is an OPI addict, so this is why the majority of her posts are OPI.

This is the last post she did for me.

"OPI’s Black Cherry Chutney is definitely one of my favourite colours of my entire haul!

It’s what everybody would call an “oldie but goodie” :). It’s from Spring 2008 India Collection!

It’s a cherry dark purple (black cherry describes it very well!) with a lot of red shimmer in it.

In the sun you can see this shimmer to perfection, and then you might just say “it’s lit from within!” (I’m sorry, I don’t remember the blogger that used this expression for the first time. Maybe Alizarine?).

Anyways, this is a gorgeous colour to wear whenever you want to feel elegant and seductive. I don’t know about you people, but I felt like a real lady while wearing this! :)

I’ve found the application to be quite tricky, which is unusual for an OPI, and you’d need 3 coats for good opacity. Good wear, normal drying time.

Again, really spectacular in the sun!

Here I am wearing 2 coats of OPI Black Cherry Chutney and 1 coat of Mavala MavaDry (which produced some ugly bubbles, quite visible on my index…)

KIKO 305

I think I choose only sheer polishes from Kiko. I liked this one because it was gold but not kitch.
This is three coats and no top coat.

It's more of a layering polish, kind of like the Effects from CND. On it's own it has visible nail line, but I guess it is very work appropriate, but anyway this is not something I would wear by itself. It's a blue shimmer with small glitter inside, in a transparent base.

KIKO 255

This one was winking at me yesterday so I tried it. It's a dark violet let's say jelly, because I am not sure it's a cream, with holo glitter in it. I applied two coats, and at the end it became kinda gritty, so I put on a top coat from Revlon, that still didn't cover it so I put another top coat, and amazingly that wasn't enough either. The thing that did the trick was a third layer of Seche Vite.
So it came out looking like this - click for larger images.

KIKO - 294

As I told you I bought these polishes thanx to Sam from fashionpolish.com, and the first one that I tried is the blue one, don't know why, it just called out to me - try me try me!!
So what I think of these polishes is that they are a must have, the brush was an actual surprise to me, it wise wide enough, better than China Glaze, almost OPI quality, two coats were enough to reach total opacity, and drying time was normal.
So here are the photos - click to enlarge. I also did some konading with the bundle monster plate no BM20. the polish I used for the stamping is China Glaze - Agent Lavender.

China Glaze - Sea Spray

Another gray from the Anchors Away is Sea Spray, this is a bit darker than Pelican Gray, and I also liked it better, but I have decided that my favorites are Life Preserver and Ahoy!.
So this is a cream gray with subtle white shimmer, only noticeable in the sunlight. I was lucky to have a sunny day and be able to take a few more relevant photos of this polish.
I took like a million photos and still don't feel that they show the real color of this polish, but these will have to do. In the last two pictures I did a top coat of White Cap, and noticed that White Cap looked a lot like Jade Sparkle Effect from CND and decided to do a comp. Click for larger view - please.

Although this picture below is not color accurate, you can clearly see the shimmer.
On the picture below is the comp between White cap and Jade Sparkle, JS is on the middle finger. As you can see, layered on top of another nail polish I see no difference, but in the bottle there is a difference - White Cap is a bit whiter, as opposed to JS which is more transparent - it being conceived in the purpose of layering. I will take a picture of the bottles next to each other and post it along with my White Cap review.

China Glaze - Pelican Grey

This was not one of my favorites from this collection , it looked kinda gloomy on my nails.
It's a light gray with very subtle white shimmer. It applied just like this entire collection and that is great, dried off super fast, and I also got the tip wear in a day which is not too great but hey the colors are gorgeous. So I guess this is a quite homogeneous collection. I don't know if you can see the shimmer very well, but I was unable to get a good photo.

I just wanted to show you my haul from yesterday. I saw these on Sam's blog and she also told me where to buy them. So I went by the Passage du Havre where they have a Kiko store and bought 10 polishes, I must say it was hard to choose.

1. When and how did you start your love for polish?

I guess it all started when Sephora started selling OPI, in my country, that's when I saw there where other polishes appart from L'oreal and Bourjois, then searching for cheapper OPI I came across nail polish blogs, and discovered a whole new polish world. Cristina my occasional guest on my blog, gave me the nudge to start this blog.

2. If you could choose to do anything in the whole world what would it be?

I really don't know, I have been asking myself this question for about 20 years.

3. What's your favorite lovestory?

I loved the movie When Harry met Sally, and I watch it whenever it comes on TV.

Konad sur Life preserver

I'm sorry I didn't post anything yesterday and the day before that, I just haven't had any time. I had to go on the construction site. I starved yesterday over there, and arrived at home at 10 o'clock in the evening. So I wonder how I didn't collapse somewhere in between, having eaten only breakfast.
Anyways, today I have some pictures of my konading experience over Life preserver, with Bundle Monster plates. I love these - 21 plates for 21 $ including shipping.
